Kelly has been involved in the field of developmental disabilities since 2002. After graduating from Brock University, Kelly obtained her master’s degree in psychology in 2011 and obtained her BCBA designation in 2019.
Over the course of her career she has worked with individuals of all abilities from the age of 2 – 75. During that time, Kelly’s focus has been on working with families and individuals with severe behaviour concerns, ranging from self-injurious behaviour, aggression and other significant maladaptive behaviours. She has worked for several DFO providers in the Hamilton-Halton-Niagara region as well as private agencies supporting children, adults and their families in their homes, out in the community and in school.
As the Founder and Clinical Director at New Leaf Autism & ABA Services, Kelly ensures that all of the clinical services that New Leaf delivers are evidence-based and top quality. She also oversees our Ontario Autism Program (OAP) as New Leaf’s Clinical Supervisor.
Kelly is also mom to our service dog, Hank, who is a regular support to both clients and staff here at New Leaf.
Our Senior Therapists are Masters level graduates in Education, Psychology or Applied Disability Studies with post-graduate studies and experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis. Their diverse backgrounds allow us to work collaboratively with various paraprofessionals and parents. Our current Senior Therapists are qualified Behaviour Analysts or are completing their BCBA required supervision with intentions to complete their certification.
Our Instructor Therapists and front-line staff are well-trained and have completed post graduate studies in Autism and ABA. All interventionists are closely supervised by our senior staff and undergo frequent hands-on training to ensure that their skills are up-to-date and precise. RBT certification is a requirement with our front-line staff and we work together to support them during this professional development.
All staff have experience in providing evidence-based services (ABA) to a variety of populations including children, youth and adults with varying levels of functioning. We have provided services in various settings such as clinics, residential settings, private homes and schools.
Ensuring families are treated with respect and compassion is one of our core goals. We not only desire family input, we require it so you can be sure that you feel heard when setting priority goals for your loved one.
